Take a ride back in history on one of Mosaic’s iconic trolleys to Horton House to meet one of Jekyll’s most memorable characters, Christophe DuBignon. Guests will experience the colonial history of Jekyll Island and the tales of du Bignon’s life as a privateer for King Louis XVI and the trials he went through as he created a new life for his family on Jekyll Island. This experience includes a guided visit to Horton House and the adjacent cemetery and garden. Guests will conclude the experience with a period weapons firing demonstration and a ride back to the Mosaic with music from that era. Light refreshments will be provided.
This activity will take about 75-90 minutes and will include loud noises and walking and standing outside for about 20-30 minutes. Insect repellant and sun screen are encouraged. No pets allowed, but service animals are always welcome. Tours may be delayed or cancelled in the event of dangerous weather.
