Spring is here and bird migration is at its peak on Jekyll Island. With a portion of the beautiful Oleander Golf Course temporarily closed, we are offering a very special, limited time invitation to experience a small, private birding and nature tour of this area, expertly guided by Ben Carswell, the Jekyll Island Authority Director of Conservation. Ben has led Jekyll Island's conservation program since its inception in 2012. His career has spanned work with the National Park Service and the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center with graduate studies at the University of Georgia. This is a walking tour covering a 1.75 mile loop and will be strictly limited to 10 participants. Social distancing will be observed, and we ask you to BYOB - bring your own binoculars and bug spray (and water). The tour begins and ends at the Jekyll Island Golf Club, where McCormick's Grill will be open and offering take-out that is perfect for picnics.
