Explore the beach at night and learn about the amazing journey of loggerhead sea turtles nesting along the Georgia coast. Along the way, guides will lead a variety of activities while you wait for potential nesters to arrive. Program participants must provide their own transportation to the beach access in case moving to a different area is necessary. Group size is limited to 20 people per walk by DNR permit restrictions.
If you have any specific needs to participate, please contact us at least one week ahead of your reservation by emailing our Reservations Department at [email protected]
Participants should arrive at the designated beach access point by 8:45 PM. An email will be sent with meeting location details in advance of your walk (please bring your electronic or hard-copy receipt).
This program requires walking at a moderate to brisk pace on uneven surfaces for at least 2 miles.
Participants must be at least 10 years old. All participants 10-15 years old are required to be accompanied by an adult (18+) on the tour.
Due to insects and highly variable weather/temperatures, we recommended bringing comfortable layered clothing, including a short-sleeved shirt, light jacket, rain jacket, pants, and closed-toed shoes.
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO BRING:
- Bug spray
Performing the following activities during a walk is grounds for immediate dismissal with no refund:
- Unauthorized handling or harassment of sea turtles
- Using lights of any kind, including wearing light-up shoes during the walk
